Cold Morning at Dolores Beach

The holidays have taken most of my time, so I am not painting as much right now.  I slipped away for a couple of hours to paint this scene at Dolores Beach.  It was 26º F with a brisk breeze coming down the canyon.  I removed the rock I had in there earlier and touched up colors.  It think it works better now.

The city put these big rocks there to keep the "wingnuts" from driving their 4-wheelers through the river.  I have seen pictures of nice rigs that have broken through the ice and were half sunk...costly and it pollutes the river.
