Wilson Arch

This is just above Wilson Arch looking down.  I have always been fascinated by the shadows that creep up the sides of the red rock cliffs as the sun sets creating wonderful contrasts.

  1. This is very cool! I really love the long format - perfect for this composition. And great job capturing the warm greens in the sun and the cool greens in the shadows for the juniper.

Wilson Arch....why am I drawing a blank on where that is? Is it in Arches NP?

  2. Thanks Sonya. I was struggling to capture the light and shadow areas in this.

I should have put the location in the description. Wilson Arch is on highway 191 between Monticello and Moab, Utah.

  4. Thanks Sandy. The Canyonlands area is so spectacular, I hope to do many more in that area..perhaps in fall, after it cools off a bit.
