This is just above Wilson Arch looking down. I have always been fascinated by the shadows that creep up the sides of the red rock cliffs as the sun sets creating wonderful contrasts.
This is very cool! I really love the long format - perfect for this composition. And great job capturing the warm greens in the sun and the cool greens in the shadows for the juniper.
Wilson Arch....why am I drawing a blank on where that is? Is it in Arches NP?

Thanks Sonya. I was struggling to capture the light and shadow areas in this.
ReplyDeleteI should have put the location in the description. Wilson Arch is on highway 191 between Monticello and Moab, Utah.
This is wonderful, Susan. Having been there, I know you got this right! Bravo, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy. The Canyonlands area is so spectacular, I hope to do many more in that area..perhaps in fall, after it cools off a bit.
